Reflection: Construct perpendicular lines from pg 179
Summary: : How can we use paragraph and 2 column proofs to structure our arguments? How can you describe the properties of two lines including parallel perpendicular lines? summaries are not just to address the questions but to also provide you guidance into summarizing the lessons. Complete homework problems in the appropriate lessons i.e. paragraph proof problem goes in the Parallel Lines and Paragraph Proof lesson, 2-column problems will go in today's lesson ![]()
Tomorrow I will be checking the following:
For the quiz, I am using sections 2.6, 2.7 and 3.1 to assess students on. For 2.6 and 2.7 I am more interested in assessing your progress in addressing proofs structures, mainly 2-column proofs and paragraph proofs. I am not looking for students to already know the content, as I will be providing you with a handout to have all the theorems, postulates and definitions to be used in the quiz. The goal is to see if students know the location of ideas, i.e. given statements in the beginning, reasoning in the middle and for the conclusion, restating the conjecture to show it is proven or not. For 3.1, I am assessing students on the content we have reviewed about lines and angles. In Aeries, the formal quiz is worth 60 points, double the Accountability quiz. The formal quiz will be out of 20 marks. Review the pages found in the PowerPoint in the previous blog post. Lastly, because I want all you to love math like Ms. Ramos does, please watch the following video https://youtu.be/g-jwWYX7Jlo regarding motivation ... It regards how I hope you all fight through the challenges, like those found in math. Bring in a 4 sentence summary tomorrow to receive a bonus mark on the quiz. slides posted :) ![]()
